After a decade leading Museum Education at the Art Institute of Chicago, RH took early retirement to accept a senior research fellowship at Harvard University’s Center for the Study of World Religions. Her leadership in the field of the arts and public policy has included significant international consultancies and fellowships at the Aspen Institute, the Goethe Institut, and the Rockefeller Foundation’s Bellagio Center. She is the author of a memoir, Another Way Home (University of Chicago Press), designated by the Chicago Tribune as one of the ten best books of the year in 2004.
