In 2022, Russell was one of the largest advisors in the world with over $300 billion in AUM and $1.2 trillion under advisement for clients in 31 countries. Her transformative leadership during this period included redefining the firm’s strategic direction, globalizing operations for enhanced profitability and scalability, and pioneering cutting-edge client solutions.Michelle has been recognized on Barron’s list of “The Most Influential Women in U.S. Finance,” and American Banker’s list of the “Most Powerful Women in Finance.” She was honored as an ‘Alumni Fellow’ by Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business in 2017. She is a sought-after speaker on global markets, financial security, and leadership. Prior to Russell, Michelle spent 22 years at William Blair, where she rose to CEO of William Blair Investment Management at the age of 35. During her 16 year leadership of the business, she drove five-fold growth and transformed the $11 billion regional business into a $74 billion enterprise renowned for it’s client-centric focus and award-winning culture. Michelle serves on the boards of MSCI, Inc. (NYSE: MSCI), Sana Biotechnology (Nasdaq: SANA), the Fred Hutch Cancer Center, and Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.
