Dhuanne Dodrill is the President & CEO of PAXXUS, Inc. a leading manufacturer of engineered flexible materials and packaging for the healthcare market. Under Dhuanne’s guidance, PAXXUS has expanded its manufacturing globally becoming the supplier of choice for many of the world’s top healthcare companies. With over 35 years of experience, Dhuanne is a recognized industry leader regarding packaging materials, testing and standards, and trade issues. Dhuanne’s participation with industry groups has helped shape the industry. She chaired ASTM Committees F02 Primary Barrier Packaging where she reorganized its structure and substantially increased its global presence and representation. In 2021, she was honored with ASTM’s Award of Merit, its highest recognition for individual contributions to standards activities. Dhuanne is the Chair of the Sterilization Packaging Manufacturers Council and helped launch the very successful Sterile Packaging Day. She served on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of the Flexible Packaging Association, the leading voice of the flexible packaging industry. Asked to represent the interests of the flexible packaging industry, Dhuanne has testified at the U.S. International Trade Commission and the Department of Commerce. With a goal of improving patient outcomes by solving “wicked” problems in healthcare packaging, Dhuanne was one of the founding members of KiiP. Born out of the prestigious Kilmer Conference, KiiP has grown from the original 8 members to over 250 passionate professionals across the sterility assurance value chain. By collaboratively focusing on medical device packaging, the goal is to foster bold, unprecedented innovation. On a global level, Dhuanne works to shape the complex regulatory requirements of the medical device, pharmaceutical, diagnostic, and life sciences industries with patient safety and improved patient outcomes always at the forefront. She has been involved with AAMI Technical Committee 198, Sterilization, Working Group 7 where she has provided comments and input to ISO 11607 Packaging for Terminally Sterilized Medical Devices. Dhuanne authored the materials section and contributed to several other sections of AAMI TIR22 Guidance for ISO 11607 which formed the original basis of ISO 16775. Dhuanne is also active with Europe’s Sterile Barrier Association, co-chairing its Market Statistics Committee. Dhuanne enjoys working with young professionals and students; educating, guiding, and advising them and, in turn, learning from them.
