Amélie is a Managing Director based in Lazard’s Chicago office. Prior to joining the Chicago office in September 2015, Amélie served as Chief Operations Officer of Lazard Greater China from 2011 to 2015. Amélie joined Lazard in Paris in 1994 where she advised French corporations including CAC 40 companies Accor and Vivendi, SBF 120 listed groups such as Club Med and private companies in a broad range of industries.

While in China, Amélie advised Chinese companies, including state-owned entities, in cross-border assignments, as well as foreign companies’ evaluation acquisition opportunities in China. Selected Chinese industrial clients include DongFeng Motor Corp, MingYang Wind Power, Avic International, BAIC and China Aerospace Sciences Corporation.

Amélie has advised on the following Sino-foreign transactions: Cosco’s acquisition of a 67% stake in Piraeus Port Authority, Pierre et Vacances’ strategic partnership with HNA, the $7.7 billion sale of Pirelli to Chemchina, the €1.1 billion sale of Infront Sports and Media to Wanda Energia to Shandhai Electric, the sale of Saint-Grobain’s solar business, Avancis, to CNBM, DongFeng Motor Corp’s €800 million acquisition of a 14% in PSA, the $385 million sale of Abertis’ 7% stake in Eutelsat to CIC and Blue Focus’ acquisition of a 20% stake in UK-listed advertising agency Huntsworth.

Other non-Chinese industrial transactions include Siemens’ acquisition of Alstom’s gas turbine business, Zodiac Marine’s acquisition of Waterpik and the merger of TotalFina and Elf.

While in Paris, Amélie led the Media team in Europe from 2000 to 2011:

  • Selected transactions in the Media industry include the acquisition of Houghton Mifflin by Vivendi, the disposal of Vivendi Universal Professional Press Division, the merger of Seagram, Vivendi and Canal+ into Vivendi Universal, the disposal of Paris Saint-Germain Football Club to Colony Capital, the acquisition of Media Partners by Infront, the sale of TMC and NT1 to TF1 by AB Group and the disposal of Ticknetnet to LiveNation
  • Selected transactions in the Gaming industry include both online gaming- the disposal of Betclick to Financiere LOV, the acquisition of Bet-at-Home in Austria, Everest Group in the U.S. and Expekt in Sweden by Mangas Gaming and the disposal of 50% of Mangas Gaming to Société des Bains de Mer- and the casino industry- the divestiture of Colony’s stake in Groupe Lucien Barriere
  • Selected transactions in the Hospitality industry include the demerger of Accor Prepaid Services and Hotel Business and the disposal of Accor’s stake in Club Med
