A skillful trial attorney, Amy Doehring represents clients in a wide variety of complex litigation matters in federal and state courts across the country as well as in arbitration. Her legal practice focuses on the defense of clients in several industries such as healthcare, food and beverage, engineering, manufacturing, and insurance. She also assists corporate clients in disputes arising out of commercial transactions and advises trustees and beneficiaries in trust and estate controversies. She serves on the Akerman Board of Directors, as Office Managing Partner for the Chicago office and as co-chair of Akerman’s Probate and Fiduciary Litigation Practice. Notable Work Healthcare Litigation: Restored six years of property tax exemptions for a not for profit hospital following a month-long trial and two interlocutory appeals. Manufacturing and Engineering: Regularly secures favorable results in various commercial and product liability matters for a top engineering and manufacturing company. Fiduciary Litigation: Represented beneficiary in dispute against family member trustee who embezzled millions of dollars from her trust and related family businesses; and represented a special litigation committee in connection with an investigation of transactions among family member owners of a closely-held corporation. Leading Chemicals and Fibers Producer: Secured a complete defense verdict on behalf of chemicals and fibers producer against a breach of contract and fraud allegations seeking approximately $4 billion in damages. Alcohol Beverage: Represented various suppliers of alcohol beverages, including spirits, wine and beer, in disputes regarding distributor terminations at the trial and appellate court levels.
